For this project we had to sketch 16 drawings into our sketchbook. This project is an example of self directional skills. Every class we had to work on a drawings that you came up with. I usually looked on my phone for inspiration and just drew off a picture I liked. Ms. Getzen gave us a deadline and throughout each class we would sketch out something. I made sure I was doing at least one creative and unique drawing per art class. I didn't want to rush it and come up with random, poorly done sketches. I took my time with each one and put meaning behind them, that's what I'm proud of. Throughout the week that we worked on our sketches I improved my self directional skills by a lot. Ms. Getzen trusted us to use our time wisely and so our sketches.
21st Century Skills- Self directional Skills: This skill was very important in this project. Everyday when I walked into class I grabbed my sketchbook and grabbed all the supplies I would need. I chose the paint colors I wanted and filled a cup with water. I set everything up and began to make some art. We had to motivate ourselves to draw. In class you can get easily distracted so you had to make sure you stayed on task. Ms.Getzen gave us a deadline and I made sure I was doing at least one creative and unique drawing per art class. I didn't want to rush it and come up with random, poorly done sketches. I took my time with each one and put meaning behind them. Information Skills: When I would get into class and wanted inspiration I would go online to research. Looking for different designs and photos. Anything that caught my eye and I wanted to do my own drawing of is what I used technology for. Communication Skills: When I would work on drawing Ms. Getzen would give her input and tips on how I could improve. She usually says to add more depth and shading which really changes the art piece in an easy way. Thinking and Problem Solving: When I got into class I would start thinking of ideas that would be interesting to draw. I had to decide what I needed and what supplies I would have to look for in the classroom.
