ALGEBRA-algebra story
In algebra when we were at the youth center we did a project called Algebra Story. We had to get in groups and make a video, poster, skit, etc. We had to have a creative story line, images, four math problems within story, and a minimum five minute presentation. This project was based on algebraic expressions. We needed to include key words and phrases in math word problems. My group decided to make a fun skit video. Our story line was based on a fire. We used questions like "There are two doors and a number of windows, overall there are three possible exits." Then we made an equation for this expression that was 2 + n = 3. I'm proud of this work with how much effort we put in it and how we were able to have our project in a more interesting scenario. 21st Century Skills
Information Skills- We used this because we had to look at the information we had o form these algebraic expressions correctly. Communication Skills- We used this because we had to communicate together to come up with these expressions and understand what each of us had an idea of for the skit. Thinking & Problem Solving- We used this because we had to come up with expressions and then make an equation that matched it. We also had to think about when and where we were going to film this. We decided to film this after our turn at KYC in one of the rooms. Interpersonal Skills- We used this because we worked in our group very effectively and were able to work together efficiently. |
