Name of Assignment: Waves Subject: Facilitator/Teacher: Accelus
Description of Work/Assignment:
These Acellus physics assignments are when I watch a couple of these ten minute videos and do short quizzes when I completely finish each one. There’s this nice teacher man that explains on his TV and chalkboard everything that we need to know like formulas and vocabulary. For this unit we learned about Waves, standing waves, sound waves, etc.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? I feel this assignment addresses Information Skills. Information skills is applying relevant computer and handheld technology and integrating it. Integrating acellus is a daily thing in my education so understanding this technology is very important. We’re given notes that he shows us so being able to understand that text and apply it in our end of video quizzes is important.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
What I’m most proud of from this assignment is that I was able to get through it. It's difficult having to sit through so many videos, This assignment was so hard and there were so many formulas to choose from. I wasn’t sure which one was right and then I had to keep watching the videos on repeat if I got one wrong. I’m proud that I got through it.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
I improved on my information skills by being able to understand more text having to do with physics and the equations. Learning by watching videos on accelus can be confusing at time but I learned how to do it in an efficient way.
What was most difficult about completing this task?
At this point in time it gets pretty hard to just have to sit still and watch something you're not really interested in and there's really no way to engage yourself in class. It's just been difficult doing it.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different?
I always tell myself to start this earlier and give it time but it never happens so I wouldn't start it as late and be able to fully understand each concept.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?
This relates to what I’ve learned in the past because in physics we use a lot of algebra and solving for variables we don’t know so it’s nice that I have that background knowledge.
How can you apply this to future learning?
I can apply this to future learning because you don't realize the specifics of things that are part of your life so being able to know about waves and frequencies it is really good to know.
